My credit card was lost or stolen. Who do I call? Call us immediately if you believe your card has been lost or stolen, or your credit card account has been compromised in any way at 888-247-8204 in Beatrice, 800-588-5365 in Lincoln or call Certegy at 800-325-3678 after hours. When calling Certegy, you must have your 16 digit card number, the expiration date and you may need your 3 digit security code on the back. Reminder: Keep this information separate from your card and available for this purpose. Never put your PIN number with your card. Back to Top
What happens after that? Your credit card account will immediately be blocked to stop any potential fraudulent use of your account. That also means you will no longer be able to use your account. A new number will be issued along with a new card. We will notify you of the new number upon request, or you may wait for the card to come in the mail. You must notify any merchant you have pre-authorizations with. Back to Top
I forgot my PIN number. What can I do? MembersOwn Credit Union does not have access to your PIN. You may call us and we will order a new PIN number for you. It will come to you in the mail under the same process when you opened your account. In the meantime, you will not be able to do PIN based transactions. Please keep your PIN secret and do not write it on your card. Back to Top
I am going on vacation. Do I need to contact anyone? ”Unusual’ use of your card (for example, buying a HDTV in Texas when you live in Nebraska) could flag your account as potential fraud. To protect you, Certegy may call your home number to verify the use. To make sure you have uninterrupted use of your card, notify MembersOwn CU at 888-247-8204 in Beatrice, 800-588-5365 in Lincoln or Certegy Customer Service at 800-322-8472. Back to Top
What happens to my student loan now that the rules have changed? All government guaranteed student loans disbursed after June 30, 2010 will be funded by the federal government. This includes students (Stafford) and their parents (PLUS) who are still in school and still borrowing funds. The existing loans will continue to be managed by MembersOwn CU and Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation. However all future disbursements will come from the federal government. What kind of loans do you have at MembersOwn Credit Union? MembersOwn CU offers various types of loans for consumers. Members and potential members may apply for a loan to purchase a car, pickup, RV, boat, motorcycle or any other item that can be legally titled. We also have loans available for other acceptable purposes within the policies and guidelines of the Credit Union. Home Equity loans utilize the equity you have in your residence and include Home Equity Lines of Credit, Fixed Home Equity Loans, Home Improvement loans and Nebraska Energy loans. How do I apply for a loan? There are many ways you can apply. E-Branch offers on-line applications for members and potential members. Just click on e-Branch and scroll to the bottom of the page to “Not a Registered e-Branch User? Apply for a loan here”. Of course you can always stop by the Lincoln or Beatrice office and pick up an application or talk to a Loan Officer. If it is difficult for you to get to either office during office hours, we will send or fax you an application. Back to Top
Do you report to a credit bureau? Yes, we report our member’s loan information to Experian and Trans Union. Back to Top
Do we pay a penalty if we pay our loan off early? There is no penalty for early payment. In fact, if it is possible for you to make additional payments, we encourage it because you benefit by paying less total interest on the loan. If you do make additional payments, unless you contact us, you will still have to make your minimum regular payment according to your contract. Back to Top
What if something happens to me before the loan is paid off? You may choose to add credit life and/or credit disability to your loan with the premium calculated as part of your loan payments. Credit protection is not required for approval. Contact your local office for more information. Back to Top
